60s Hair Trends For Redheads To Try in 2023

Of course, TikTok is all over this trend.

Retro styles have been hot for a while now in hair, beauty, and fashion. The latest throwback hairstyles are hot looks from the 1960s. The recent Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards had celebs like Jennifer Coolidge, Amanda Seyfried, Zendaya, Aubrey Plaza, and our very own redhead idol, Jessica Chastain, all rocking 60s-inspired hair looks. If you want to hop on the 60s hair trend, here are a few styles to try out:

1. 60s Flipped-Out Ends

Lots of volume and some flipped-out ends can give you a really cute, casual retro 60’s hairstyle. This style works best on medium to long hair.

2. Slicked Back Straight

This is the chich style we saw Jessica Chastain rocking at the 2023 SAG Awards. It can be dressed up or down and is easy to achieve. Just clip up the hair, minus the front sections. Brush the front sections down flat, and secure at the nape of the neck with clips or a hair elastic. Let the rest of the hair down and straighten.

3. Sleek Side Part

Similar to the slicked-back straight 60s style, this look is done with a slicked-back side part. You can accomplish this look with straight or curled hair.

4. Feathered with Bangs

A retro stapled is the feathered ends with bangs. This hairstyle adds a lot of volume and shape around the face. Simply curl all the hair away from the face using large hot rollers or a curling iron and then brush out. This look works best on medium to long hair with layers and of course bangs.

5. Short Mod Style

For shorter red hair, try this adorable mod style with some added volume and swoopy curtain bangs. Complete the look with a cute clip or barrette in your hair.

6. High Voluminous Ponytail

A stunning style for a night out is this high, voluminous ponytail. This style works best on long, thick hair or with extensions. Curl the hair or use hot rollers to create volume. Then gather the hair high on the head in slicked back ponytail. To complete the look wrap the hair around the hair tie, or add a ribbon. Tease the ponytail or add extensions for added volume. Wear the hair pulled forward over the shoulders.

Rock it like a Redhead!
