When choosing your sunscreen, you can often decide between mineral and chemical sunscreen. We’ve broken down these two types before and discussed why mineral sunscreen is the best option, especially for those with sensitive skin. Well, one of the main complaints with mineral sunscreen is that it can leave a white cast on your body.
Here are some of our favorite mineral sunscreens that won’t leave a white cast as well as a few application tips:
This is the best option for redheads, it’s sensitive skin safe, white cast free and we’re so obsessed we even featured it in the May monthly H2BAR Box + Summer Deluxe H2BAR Box
Another mineral sunscreen we love is this one from MDSolarSciences, a brand that has also been featured in an H2BAR box and we have deemed “redhead approved”.
Blue Lizard has a lot of good sunscreen options for adults and children. This one does take a little more work to rub in but once you’ve got it applied it works wonders.
Spray sunscreens are the toughest to find in mineral form. This one has mixed reviews, but we tried it and really liked it. You do have to blend it in once you spray, but it’s non-irritating and long-lasting.
H2BAR Tip: If the spray bottle gets clogged, try running the cap and nozzle under hot water to rinse away any excess minerals. You could also use a safety pin and gently tap the center of the spray area where the lotion comes out
Babies need sun protection too and this is our top choice for mineral baby sunscreen. It does need some blending, but you can get perfectly blended in sunscreen on your little one by using a makeup brush.
Rock it like a Redhead!
