Get Christina’s Wavy Locks in 3 Easy Steps

By: Guest Writers from Latest-Hairstyles.com

Super sexy redhead Christina Hendricks has graced the cover of BlackBook Magazine’s Spring 2012 Fashion Issue with a gorgeous beachy waved hairstyle that is making all of us at Latest-Hairstyles.com swoon!

The awesome thing is that this style is amazingly achievable. We looked to Michigan-based stylist, fabulous hair blogger and Latest-Hairstyles.com contributor Marlo Stuef for expert advice on how to achieve this red-hot look.

Here are her steps:

1. Prep hair with a volumizing product and anti-frizz serum. I like to pair Big Sexy Blow Dry Gel and ‘It’s a 10 Miracle’ styling serum. If you need even more sass, pair with a root pump product as well. Blow dry hair using a large round brush, concentrating on lifting hair straight up from the root area to maximize volume.

2. Once hair has been dried, grab a 1-inch to 1 1/2 inch curling iron and wrap hair around the iron, directing away from the face. (Tip: Don’t start the curls until eye or cheekbone level.) You can make this look more polished by taking even subsections of hair to be curled and curling the ends. If you prefer more of a beach-inspired look like Christina’s, take random subsections and leave the ends out straight. I like to work with a flexible hold working hairspray as I’m curling and once finished to give lasting hold. Right now I am loving Healthy Sexy Hair ‘Soy Touchable’ weightless hairspray.

3. After hair has been curled and cooled, run your fingers through to break up the waves. Smooth and style in place, then finish with a hairspray and either a weightless shine spray or a frizz-fighting serum if needed.

**EXTRA RED TIP** Not a natural redhead? Keep your red color happy by using a color extending/protecting shampoo and conditioner like Healthy Sexy Reinvent (fine or thick hair formulations!), John Frieda ‘Radiant Red’ or Aveda ‘Madder Root.’ Styling products that contain UV protection will keep reds rocking until your next touch-up and make sure to wear a hat if you plan on being in the sun for a prolonged period of time.
