The Fall Wedding Guide for Redhead Guests

What to wear and the best hair/makeup advice for redheads!

Updated: September 1, 2023

As fall rolls around, you probably have a few weddings on the calendar. Here are all the redhead-focused wedding guest tips you need to be a great guest and have a great time.

‘Redhead Friendly’ Attire

Choosing your attire for a wedding is one of the most fun parts. For fall weddings, redheads will need to make sure they’re dressed for the weather and the occasion. Be sure to look at the dress code or ask the couple if you’re unsure. The last thing you want to do is show up underdressed.

You should never wear white, off-white, or ivory to a wedding unless specifically requested to. For a fall wedding, opt for fun fall colors like maroon, mustard, emerald green, or plum! Coordinate with your date so you look dashing in photos. For fall weddings it’s a good idea to bring a light sweater, jacket, or wrap in case it gets cold.

Hair and Makeup

It’s usually best to keep your hair and makeup simple and elegant for a wedding. Opt for a neutral eye look, a smooth complexion, great redhead eyebrows, and if you want to play it up, go for a bold lip. For your gorgeous red hair, do something you’re comfortable with like loose curls or something half up.

Fall weddings can be tricky because the UV index can be high even if it’s not hot or sunny. If the wedding is during the day outdoors, don’t forget to add some SPF so you don’t end up with a fall sunburn.

General Wedding Guest Tips

Attending weddings as a guest can be super fun, just remember it’s the couple’s big day and you’re there to celebrate them. You can help them have the best day ever by being a good wedding guest with these tips:

  • Always RSVP on time
  • Arrive at the ceremony 5-10 minutes early to get a seat
  • Keep your phone turned off and put it away during the ceremony
  • Send or bring a gift from the registry if you can
  • Try to greet the couple and congratulate them at the reception
