It’s sunscreen season! Just kidding, every season is sunscreen season when you’re a redhead. But, spring is in full-swing which means it’s time to stock up on face and body SPF. The most expensive sunscreen doesn’t always mean the best sunscreen.
We love to recommend a mineral sunscreen for redheads because the ingredients are usually zinc oxide and titanium dioxide that act as a physical barrier — and prevents UV light from penetrating the skin. Think of mineral sunscreen as a force field. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are the only ingredients considered safe and effective by the FDA. They’re also much kinder to our sensitive skin. Another bonus? Once applied, that force field begins to work immediately.
Sometimes, mineral sunscreens get a bad rap because they can be thick and difficult to rub in. We chose 7 of our favorite ‘Redhead-Friendly’ approved mineral sunscreens that apply well, feel great and are priced under $25:
