This season, there is color everywhere. It’s the perfect opportunity to branch out and start experimenting with different colors that complement our radiant red locks. And that doesn’t just mean with our clothes; we redheads can rock fun, fierce and flirty nail polish, too! Picking the right nail polish can be the perfect way to finish off an outfit, give ourselves a post-winter pick-me-up, and make our sexy red locks stand out.
If you want to transform any nail color to a more glamorous, going out look, try adding a glittery topcoat, or creating an accent nail on your ring finger by using different nail embellishments and stickers.
Here are my top nail polish color choices to give you fun, fierce or sassy nails:
FUN:
1. Blue: Sticking with the pastel colors, a pastel or powder blue can look super-feminine and delicate on our hands. Even when the skies are grey, rocking a brighter blue tone on our nails will remind us that better weather is just around the corner (if like me, you’re a redhead living somewhere where the weather can be overcast, you’ll agree we need this reminder sometimes!)
Try: A shade like Revlon Indigo Night
2. Green: Marilyn Monroe once sang how ‘Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend’. Well, that may be the case, but when it comes to redheaded girls, green is definitely our best friend. Ever wonder why this is so? Green and red are opposite each other on the color wheel & complement each other every time they meet.
Try: Essie Mint Candy Apple. The color is soft, minty, and fresh, and reminiscent of the colours that start to appear around us in nature. Rocking a green on our nails will ensure that our hair definitely stands out.
FIERCE:
1. Red: A nail polish classic that never, ever goes out of style. Red nails add a touch of Hollywood glamour. They are sophisticated, and look super-sexy on us redheads. My go-to nail choice is nearly always a red.
Try: OPI Big Apple Red. It’s a gorgeous deep red color that looks fabulous on fairer complexions and is perfect for a day to night look. All you need to do is apply a sensational red lipstick and you’re ready to go!
FLIRTY:
1. French Manicure: The french manicure is understated, sophisticated, and extremely elegant. It is perfect if you want to keep your nails looking natural, and enhance your natural look. It’s a nail style that complements any of us redheads. A french manicure goes with any outfit, and is suitable for both daytime and evening looks.

If you are giving the french manicure a try for the first time, set some time aside to do a few practice runs first. Just like applying eyeliner, it requires a calm nerve and a steady hand!
Whatever polish color you rock, remember to take your hair color and complexion into consideration. Pick a nail color that will complement your skin tone, and make your fiery manes of red stand out. Remember, a polish that looks great on one redhead may not look so hot on another.
