It was recently announced Blake Lively will play the redhead character, Lily Bloom, in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling book It Ends With Us. The casting announcement came on January 26th and shortly after, Lively posted a sneak-peak of her new look to Instagram.
It Ends With Us is the story of Lily, a young redhead woman living in Boston who dreams of owning her own flower shop. She meets a handsome doctor and thinks she found her happily ever after. It turns out her marriage is nothing like she expected and things start to fall apart in the worst way. Bloom reconnects with her first love for a whirlwind story that will have you in tears.
We aren’t sure if Blake Lively will wear a wig for the film or if she actually will dye her hair ginger, but this isn’t the first time she has been a redhead. She’s toyed with strawberry blonde and a spicy cinnamon color over the years, and we are excited to see her red again.
It Ends With Us, originally released in 2016, has topped bestseller charts for major booksellers like Amazon and Barnes & Noble and is a New York Times best seller since 2021. The book went viral on TikTok and has been rated over 2 million times on the popular book site Goodreads; even celebrities like Kendall and Kylie Jenner have posted about reading the book on their social media pages.
