Everyone loves chocolate, and your skin loves it too. Chocolate is rich in antioxidants and can help nourish your skin. When combined with other ingredients, chocolate can make a wonderful face mask. Here are a few recipes to try at home.

1. Dark chocolate clay mask

Extract excess oils from the skin while removing dead skin cells and nourishing skin with antioxidant properties. 

Ingredients

  • ½ cup melted dark chocolate 
  • 2 tbsp clay powder

Instructions

Combine melted chocolate and clay to form a paste. Apply to face and let dry completely. Once dry, wash off with water, pat skin dry, and apply moisturizer.

Clay powder and dark chocolate are rich in antioxidants. These simple ingredients will rejuvenate your skin.

2. Chocolate, honey, yogurt face mask

Hydrate the skin with yogurt while adding antioxidant properties from the chocolate and honey.

Ingredients 

  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup yogurt

Instructions

Mix ingredients until fully combined into a liquid mask, add more honey if consistency is too thin, or more yogurt if too thick. Apply to the face and let sit for 15 mins. Wash off with water, pat dry, and apply moisturizer.

3. Chocolate and coffee mask

Brighten dull skin while nourishing and hydrating. Perfect for the cold weather months.

Ingredients 

  • 4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 tbsp coffee powder
  • 10 tbsp coconut milk

Instructions

Combine powders and then slowly add coconut milk until you get your desired consistency. Apply to your face and neck and leave for up to 30 minutes. Wash off the paste, pat skin dry, and apply moisturizer.

The coconut milk keeps the skin hydrated and the cocoa powder soothes your skin as it has anti-inflammatory properties.
