The Spring Deluxe H2BAR Box hit redhead mailboxes last month! The theme continued from the monthly March H2BAR Box — ‘You’re Lucky To Be a Redhead’ with a tie into St. Patrick’s Day. The value of the box is $270 & there were 10 full-size, ‘redhead friendly’ products.
Tressa Wet Brick Shampoo, $20 Value
I tried this shampoo and at first, it looks scary because it comes out dark, it really isn’t. It lathers well and adds a lot of shine to your hair. It leaves the slightest bit of a copper/auburn tint to your hair without dyeing it. The water in the shower was an orange color, but it didn’t stain the tub or shower at all. It does a great job of refreshing your red hair. It can be used on natural redheads like me or on people who dye their hair red.
This is actually my second time trying this product because I had received it in a monthly H2BAR box a few months back. I loved it so much before that I used the entire bottle. I was so happy to see it included in another H2BAR box because it really is a great product! I love the clean salon smell it gives my hair, but more importantly, I felt like my hair was silky and smooth. My red hair tends to be very brittle and dry and this helped bring it back to life with ingredients such as keratin and Argan oil. I actually like this better than the famous and very similar ‘It’s a 10’ product on the market. It costs less and has two more benefits than ‘It’s a 10’. I typically put a dime or quarter-size amount in my damp hair and either let air dry or blow-dry. My hair comes out healthy and shiny every time.
Biosilk Silk Therapy, $5 Value
A little goes a long way with this stuff. I used this on towel-dried hair and let my hair air dry. When my hair dried it felt so silky and smooth. I had a lot less frizz and I could easily glide my fingers through my hair with ease. I have long hair that goes halfway down my back and I used about a nickel-sized amount of product. The little bottle makes this great for travel as well. It has no scent which is also nice and doesn’t weigh my hair down at all.
Julien Farel De-Frizz Conditioner, $25 Value
This conditioner seemed basic because it doesn’t really have a scent, but it does an amazing job of de-frizzing my hair and leaving it soft and smooth. It has shea butter and sweet almond oil to deeply moisturize to soften and control unruly textures such as frizzy, wavy/curly and/or coarse hair. The creaminess of the formula really hydrated my strands and made it feel healthy.
ALPS Skin Antioxidant Cream, $40 Value
I have received this cream in an H2BAR monthly box before and I loved it. I love the luxurious packaging and that it has a pump to keep the product sanitary. It protects irritated skin and aids in reducing friction and soothes pain and itch. I apply a thin layer for all-day protection. It can be worn by itself or under makeup.
I didn’t think gel moisturizers were hydrating enough for my dry skin so I tended to stay away from them. This product proved me wrong. It is designed to deeply nourish redhead skin for a smoother complexion. It features a combination of aloe, ceramides and probiotics that are amazing for sensitive skin like ours. The gel texture makes this hydrator lightweight and it still effectively reduces itchy, dehydrated skin while targeting the visible signs of stress and aging. I’ve noticed a huge difference in the texture of my skin as well as my glow. It definitely feels like a luxurious product on your face.
SolarDerm Moisturizer, $20 Value
This product is marketed for “after sun” but is great for everyday usage. However, I am very excited to try this with the face wash after I get a little sun this spring and summer. I’m sure it will soothe any sunburns that may come my way. It comes out of the tube tinted, but that goes away when you rub it into your skin.
I’m always excited to receive a face wash in my H2BAR boxes because I wash my face twice a day and go through them quickly. This is a nice face wash. It didn’t strip my skin of its moisture and actually my skin felt more hydrated after using it. It is a thicker consistency than other face washes I have used in the past so it took a while to lather, but it eventually did the more I worked it into my face with water. I love the ingredients in this facewash and can’t wait to use it when I start going out in the sun more. It provides instant relief for inflamed or irritated skin. It is rich in fatty acids, Vitamin A and Vitamin E.
La Beaute Soi 10 Piece Makeup Set, $25 Value
When I opened my box and saw this brush set I was so excited! It was hands down my favorite thing in the box. I love the white faux leather travel case they came in, but the brushes are also great quality! All 10 brushes feature white pearl wooden handles and a gorgeous rose gold ferrule. They are extremely soft and gentle on my redhead sensitive skin. They are 100% cruelty-free, hypoallergenic and made from the highest quality synthetic fibers. I have used them a few times for makeup application and I haven’t had any problems with them feeling itchy or losing bristles. There is literally a brush for everything. This set includes a powder brush, angled blush brush, pointed foundation brush, fan brush, flat shader brush, blending brush, angled shadow brush, concealer brush, angled liner brush, and a precision brush. They also wash very well. I can create a flawless makeup look every time with this set.
Laritzy Cosmetics Lip Gloss in ‘Curve’, $16 Value
I love this lip gloss. The color ‘Curve’ looks like a berry/mauve color in the tube, but it actually is pretty sheer on the lips. It gives the slightest bit of color without making it look like a liquid lipstick. The texture is amazing. It isn’t sticky at all. It’s very moisturizing on my lips and stayed put for a while without having to constantly reapply. It also smells really good almost like cake. I like the tube it comes in and the doe foot applicator makes application very easy. Definitely a lip gloss I will be keeping in my purse at all times.
Cleure Leave-In Conditioning Mist, $10 Value
This leave-in mist left my red hair super smooth and frizz-free. It works as a detangler –– which is a plus if you have coarse hair like me. This leave-in mist also acts as a heat protectant. I highly suggest this product if you’re looking for an easy-to-use conditioning mist to spray on your clean red locks.
Morganna’s Alchemy Instant Lift, $30 Value
This serum is amazing. As I get younger (wink, wink), I’m always looking for anti-aging skincare products like this one from Morganna’s Alchemy. It is designed to provide an almost instantaneous wrinkle reduction by forming an invisible film on skin for an immediate tightening effect.
Mystery Eyebrow Item
I received the ‘Just For Redheads’ eyebrow pencil in the color ‘Ginger Auburn’. I like this color a lot for my shade of red hair because I have a darker more auburn red. However, if I were a lighter or brighter red shade I feel that this eyebrow pencil shade would be too dark for me. I liked the creamy, but the firm texture of the pencil. I was able to draw thin hair-like strokes on my eyebrows to resemble hairs and it was easily blendable.
