Laura is an actress & model who loves her red hair, but when she was in middle school she desperately wanted to dye her hair and bathe in self tanner. She said, “I was a tall lanky teenager with pale skin, bright red hair and speckles of freckles. In other words, I was a target for bullies.” Laura’s family has many redheads. Her grandmother, father, grandfather, and brothers share what she calls the “lucky gene”. While she was going through this dilemma of desperately wanting to be something different, her grandmother, with beautiful peaches and cream skin, took her aside and told her red hair was a treasure. Her grandmother told her being a redhead was rare and beautiful. She assured Laura to stand out in this world because it’s more than a hair color, it was a way of being. Now as an adult, Laura LOVES being a redhead and wouldn’t change it for the world. “It does make me different, it describes my personality without me even having to say a word,” Laura concludes.
