Be the Redhead of the Week

Karen is from Norway and as a young girl she always wanted to color her hair blonde or brown to ‘fit in’. She received comments like, “You should tan more and wear foundation to hide your ugly freckles.” These comments made her feel worthless and unhappy. She got scared and started hiding herself from others. Now, she is twenty-years-old and is starting to feel grateful and happy about her hair color. When she travels, she notices the positive comments and has started to strip herself of heavy makeup. “This particular photo is of me wearing no makeup, embracing my red hair in the warm Norwegian sun,” says Karen. “Adrienne & Stephanie, you are truly my role models, and not only to redheads, but to everyone because you encourage people to be grateful and happy about themselves just the way they are.
