Receiving the Winter Deluxe H2BAR Box couldn’t have come at a better time because I am currently quarantining in my house with COVID-19. Thankfully, I’m starting to feel a bit better, but while quarantining I’ve had a lot of free time to try out these ‘Redhead-Friendly’ products from the Winter H2BAR Deluxe Box.
oVertone Ginger Coloring Conditioner, $32 Value
This product intrigued me because I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. In the winter, my hair tends to fade and looks a little less vibrant. I was nervous to try this at first because I’ve never color-treated my hair before, but I figured I would give it a try. I put it on dry hair with gloves and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then I rinsed it off in the shower. It definitely made a mess in the shower, but it easily came off the tile with soap and water. My hair looked much more vibrant but naturally red. I really liked it. I wouldn’t use it all the time, but from time to time it will be really nice to refresh my style.
Prive Hair Smoothing Solution, $24 Value
I don’t know about you, but my red hair has been incredibly frizzy and dry this winter. I used this on towel dry hair after my shower. It it clear and has a very slippery consistency. I blow dried my hair and styled as normal and my hair is a lot shinier and manageable now. I love how it smooths the hair’s cuticle and resists humidity.
Oribe Power Drops Color Preservation Booster, $15 Value
Even in the winter, your hair is exposed to UV rays. This highly concentrated, luxurious serum provides an intense treatment of antioxidants and amino acids to shield red hair from UV rays and enhances color naturally. I mixed about 3-5 drops with my leave in hair conditioner (you can also apply alone to damp hair) and styled as usual. Think of this product as skincare for your hair.
Evolue Skincare Firming Toner, $34 Value
This toner was very gentle on my sensitive skin. It helps to tone, tighten and refresh the skin. I just applied it with a cotton round after washing my face and followed up with my usual moisturizer.
Honey Belle Kissable Lips Lip Balm, $5 Value
I am a lip balm junkie. I can never have too many because I take one with me wherever I go. I love that this one is natural and has a faint eucalyptus scent. I am a sucker for any lip balm with beeswax in it because it stays on my lips longer. This is a must in the cold winter months.
Honey Belle Hydrating Facial Tonic, $12 Value
The organic lavender floral water and organic aloe leaf juice acts as a natural astringent. This tonic is used to minimize the look of pores and soothes redness. I have sensitive redhead skin and this turned my skin red after using it, but it quickly went away. I used it on top of the Evolue toner that came in this box. This was great at healing my blemishes that I had around my mouth from my facemask. I am a registered nurse and have been wearing a facemask for 12 hour shifts for almost a year now and this is just what I needed.
REVEALU – Face & Body Gel, $10 Value
This is a really cool product that moisturizes from head to toe. It has a gel consistency which is different than most cream products, but it is just as hydrating. It has a lightweight finish that does a great job at keeping skin supple and soft. It also has a great cooling effect. I sometimes put it in my fridge and then apply to help reduce puffiness.
ShiKai CBD Body Lotion, $10 Value
I use body lotion everyday after I shower to keep my redhead skin moisturized and soft. This lotion is great because it is unscented which is fantastic for sensitive redhead skin. It is also non-greasy, and absorbs quickly into the skin. It has pure aloe vera and vitamin E to soothe the skin, and apricot kernel oil, avocado oil, safflower seed oil and wheat germ oil to nourish the skin. It also contains 125 MG of CBG oil which gives this lotion some anti-inflammatory benefits.
Viviane Woodward Lip Scrub, $13 Value*
This has been my lifesaver this winter. Since having COVID-19, my lips have been so dry from having to breathe through my mouth more. This is great at removing the dead skin cells on my lips and smoothing them out to apply a lip balm. It is so hydrating and gentle. The size of the tub is also huge and will last me a long time. The exfoliator is a sugar texture which is safe to ingest**** incase you do by accident.
GrandeLIPS Plumping Liquid Lipstick in Smoked Sherry, $25 Value
This shade is intimidating because it is darker, but it looks gorgeous with red hair and is a perfect color for the fall and winter months. It has a creamy, comfortable and non-drying formula which I love because it doesn’t show the lines in my lips like some matte lipsticks do.
BANDED Chunky Hand Knit Layer/Scarf, $25 Value
This is such a cute fashion accessory for the winter. I love the soft, braided knit and the gray color (some subscribers received a green shade too). It is lightweight and goes with most outfits.
Giella Cosmetics Cheek Tint Testa Rossa, $30 Value**
This ‘Redhead-Friendly’ cheek tint is a multi-use formula that can be used as not only a blush, but a lipstick as well. It is a beautiful color. I applied mine with my fingertips and blended it in. It looks very natural and lasts all day.
PonyDry, $20 Value***
This product is great for when you don’t have a ton of time to shower. It is also great for in-between washes allowing your ends a break from the shampoo. My hair is usually very dry in the winter and my roots are usually the only thing that needs a cleaning. This cool product slips over your ponytail and allows the ends to stay dry and just your roots get washed. It surprisingly works pretty well.
SavvySleepers Gift Card, $15 Value
I have the ‘Pinot Greige’ color on my bed now and have been using it for years. These are luxe satin pillow cases and help to keep your hair and skin protected while you sleep. I have been able to grow my hair out pretty long and I believe these pillow cases have helped aide that process. The colors also don’t fade and they wash very well.
