When May hits, the annual tradition we all know and love happens — the Met Gala! The 2023 Met Gala theme was in honor of the late Karl Lagerfeld. Guests wore a variety of looks inspired by him, and many of them were designed by the fashion houses Lagerfeld worked for including Balmain, Patou, Chloé, and Chanel.

One thing notably missing from this year’s Met Gala was color. Most guests wore black, white, silver, or gold (Lagerfeld’s favorite color palette) with a few pops of pale peachy pink and red. The lack of bright colors was a distinct change from last year’s Met Gala. We only saw a few redheads hit the carpet this year, both natural and ‘by choice’, but here’s what they were wearing:

Jessica Chastain

In a shocking turn of events, we saw Chastain hit the carpet sans her famous red hair. The actress was almost unrecognizable with her platinum blonde wig for the event. Regardless, she looked stunning in a Gucci gown.

Karen Elson

Model Karen Elson turned some heads with her fiery red hair and barely there gown by Christian Siriano. The natural strawberry blonde upped her hair to be even more vibrant and we loved it.

Finneas

Famous redhead brother of Billie Eilish hit the carpet with his sister in a long reddish-brown trench and a simple yet elegant black bag.

Halle Bailey

While she isn’t a natural redhead, we can’t help but show some love for our new Ariel queen, Halle Bailey. With the much-anticipated release of the new The Little Mermaid movie later this month, Bailey has been rocking the red. She hit the carpet in a white lace Gucci gown and cape.

Ice Spice

Rapper Ice Spice rocked her famous faux red at the 2023 Met Gala in a beaded white Balmain gown complete with a bedazzled camera accessory.

Rock it like a Redhead!
