Jessica Chastain Launching Freckle Films Production Company

Always staying close to her redhead roots

By: Annajo Terrill

If Jessica Chastain isn’t already the busiest woman on the planet, she is about to be.  She just recently wrapped The Zookeeper’s Wife and The Huntsman: Winter’s War. She is now in pre-production on a drama called Miss Sloane, and she is in talks to star in two new films–Woman Walks Ahead and Molly’s Game.

But, as if that was not enough, Chastain just announced the launch of a new production company. And, remaining true to her redheaded roots. She has named the company Freckle Films.

Chastain will be partnering with financing production company, Maven Pictures.  She told Deadline, “I am excited to launch Freckle Films, and I can’t imagine a better production partner than Maven Pictures…projects they’ve created demonstrate their tenacious dedication to strong characters and compelling stories that clearly resonate with audiences.”

Together, Freckle and Maven already have two book options:  Life and Other Near-Death Experiences, about a woman who discovers she has cancer and her husband is secretly gay on the same day; and The Magicians Lie, which tells the story of a female magician accused of murdering her husband when a dead body is found in her equipment.

Chastain has previous production experience with a film she also starred in–The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby.  There were actually three versions of the film: Him, Her, and Them.  Him and Her tell the same story from the two leading character’s different perspectives, and Them is essentially a combination of Him and Her condensed for theaters.   It was brilliantly done.  Catch it on Netflix if you haven’t seen it, but make sure to watch when you have time for both the Him and Her versions–Chastain says it’s how the film was meant to be seen.

Jessica Chastain never disappoints, and I’m so excited to see what she has in store for us with Freckle Films.

Rock it like a Redhead!
